TENNIS OPENING

WAIMANA CLUB’S DAY

The Waimana Tennis Club held its opening day recently in perfect weather. There was a large gathering of members and visitors and a Yankee Tournament took place. .

The winners were Mrs Hewitt and Miss M. Grover and Mr G. Grey (Taneatua) and Mr Rau (Waiotahi)., The president, Mr Dee Woolfield, welcomed the visitors and all present and hoped all had an enjoyable afternoon at tennis and presented the prizes won during the tournament. Mr H. Looney, on behalf of the Waiotahi Club, expressed their pleasure at being able to be present and Mrs H. Hill endorsed Mr Looney’s remarks on behalf of the Taneatua Club, and hoped to see Waimana members at their opening day.
