WHAKATANE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP -
The Whakatane Club Championship was decided over 36 holes last weekend, when R. J. Fattison defeated A. G. Cradwick 1 up. The morning round finished with Cradwick one hole in the lead but he lost three holes quickly in the early stages of the afternoon round before he was able to steady down again. Both players turned on good golf throughout and much credit is due to the winner on his effort against a player of such wide experience in match play. N
The course is in excellent order for the Annual Tournament to be played over the coming weekend. Although there is a big entry and .the course will be full throughout the three days, the players should enjoy themselves provided they observe the starting timetable and the weather is fine.
