TE TEKO BRANCH Last Tuesday the Te Teko branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmer’s Union held its monthly meeting in the Te Teko Hall. After opening the meeting with the reading of the Creed the president, Mrs Pryor, welcomed two new members, Mesdames Costello and Lyons. Among other business discussed was the selection of the following delegates for the next Provincial meeting: Mesdames A. Jamieson, W. Hutton and J. Carr. It was decided to forward a donation of- £2 2s to the appeal for Lepers and Orphanage Appeal. The roll call ‘A Helpful Hint’ brought forth many useful suggestions for easing the ! housewive’s burden. The demonstration on mop making, given by Mrs Peck of Otakiri, proved most interesting and many members decided to make one for themselves. Mrs Peck was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for her demonstration. Competition results were as follows: Best bloom, Mrs A. Jamieson 1; Mrs C. IJallett 2. Two lettuce, Mrs J. Cannell 1; Mrs Jamieson 2. The serving of afternoon tea brought a pleasant afternoon to a close.
