CARTER—THATCHER The marriage recently took place at St. George’s Anglican Church, Whakatane, of Frances Andrew, fifth son of the late Mr and Mrs W. A. Carter, Grange Road, Mt. Eden, and Winifred Agnes, elder daughter of Mrs N. C. Cairns and the late Mr T. C. R. Thatcher of Auckland. The Rev. W. N. Drake officiated, and Mrs C. C. Fraser was organist. Her tulle veil

The Matron of Honour, Mrs Cyril Thatcher, and the bridesmaid, Miss Barbara Cairns, step-sister of the bride, wore charming dusky pink faconne gowns and carried shower bouquets of cyclamen, gerberas and carnations in wine shades, their head bandeaux were trimed with wine coolred abutilons. Mr J. G. Bunker was best man and Mr Edwin C. Carter groomsman both of Auckland.
Following the ceremony about 70 guests were entertained at a reception held in the Parish Hall. Among the guests were relatives and friends from Auckland, Te Aroha, Cambridge, Opotiki and Papamoa. She wore a classical frock of Oyster Satin, full skirted and sweeping to a long train.
