“EASTERN FOLLIES”
FORTHCOMING VAUDEVILLE SHOW An unexpected attraction in the form of the East and West Entertainment -Company’s vaudeville show “Eastern Follies” has been announced to take place in the Grand Theatre tonight. Owing to unavoidable circumstances, the show could not be publicised earlier, but from criticisms following performances in other towns, we have no doubt that it will attain the standard of any which have yet visited Whakatane. The principle of the production is Xeo Chung who is the possessor of an excellent and finely timbred voice. Also a vocalist is Mac Oates, whilst on the feminine side the soprano, Mei Lin, has so far delighted all audiences.
Cliff Jones fills to capacity the important role of comedian, whilst novelty turns arc added by By Ko, and the Tinklers, a quartet of clever juvenile contortionists the eldest of whom is 12.
Several delightful scenas complete a programme which promises to bo thoroughly enjoyable.
