Adventures With Tigers

How would you like to lie all night in the jungle, waiting for a man-eating tiger which had already accounted for nearly a score of victims? That is the kind of sport which appeals immensely to Arthur J. King, an Australian mining expert, who has written an account of his Malayan adventures for this month’s “Australian Journal.” Mr King’s exploits with the rifle have earned him the nickname of “Tiger King,” but he writes as well as he shoots, and gives an entertaining and thrilling description of this most exciting form of big-game hunting.. Other Austi-alian authors help to bring the September Journal well up to standard, both for the quality and the variety of its fiction. This month the magazine celebrates its 81st birthday, but despite eight decades, its popularity is greater than ever, while—what is more surprising in these days—the price remains at sixpence.
