There will be no draw and players not playing championship or flight matches may choose their own partners. The results of the first round of the championships are:— “A”: Miss Black and Mrs Berg. “B”: Mrs Dawson beat Mrs Combes; Mrs Dewar beat Mrs Jarrett; Mrs Sloane beat Mrs Fraser; Mrs Otley won by default from Miss Robins; Miss Carter beat Mrs Pearse; Mrs Suckling beat Mrs Connell; Miss Hyland beat Miss Otley; Mrs Winstone beat Mrs Fogefty. “C”: Miss Campbell beat Miss Wilson; Miss McLeod beat Miss Hancock; Miss Suckling beat Miss Gartshore; Mrs Fennell beat Mrs Stone.

This week’s matches will be: Mrs Dawson and Mrs Dewar; Mrs Sloane and Mrs Otley; Miss Carter and Mrs Suckling; Miss Hyland and Mrs Winstone.
