BENEFIT DANCE

POPULAR WAIMANA GATHERING The benefit dance held in the Waimana Hall last Thursday evening was for Mr and Mrs Angus and family who had recently lost the whole of their personal belongings and furniture by fire. The Waimana orchestra supplied the dance music and Mr A. Bell kindly obliged with an extra. The M.C. was Mr F. Sterling. A competition for a cake, donated by Mrs G. Mitchell, was won by Mrs Ducker. After supper, Mr L. Ducker asked Mr and Mrs Angus to come forward and accept a cheque from the residents of the district and those present at the dance, wishing them better luck in the future and hoped the cheque would help to replace some of the articles lost by the fire. Mr Angus suitably responded, thanking all for the evening and cheque, which would be a great help.
