A WARM TRIBUTE
LOCAL BAND PRAISED LETTER FROM MATAMATA As welcome as it was spontaneous and unexpected, a letter from the secretary of the Matamata Citizens Band, has reached the conductor of the Whakatane Boys’ Band, Mr W. Jarrett, and speaks for itself. We print the letter in full as under:—
On behalf of the Matamata Citizens Band I would like to extend the heartiest congratulations to your band for its excellent performance at the recent Hamilton Eisteddfod. We feel that in view of the large percentage of young players in your band, your effort should stand as a shining example to the rest of the bands in our union.
In closing I would like to wish you all every success in forthcoming contests.
