JUST THOUGHTS
On Monday afternoon last week some 700 men, women and children paid for admission to the picture, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” It took some time to get the audience —mostly children full of life and activity and some making their first visit, seated. My chief interest was, the reaction of these children—our Whakatane children to the picture. As a result one is quite satisfied that the children are sound at heart. They behaved well, watched the show intently, took in and responded to Walt Disney’s great production. Our children are as good looking as any in this world and we, you and I, mum and dad, are each responsible in a measure for them and their well-being; their education and cultivation. Physically, mentally, spiritually they need and deserve such aid as everyone or anyone can give. The pursuit of happiness is futile unless spiritual things take first place. We are none of us perfect. We are all human, but we can lend a hand by upholding Christianity in our midst. Men and women why not lend a hand and help the children. Cut out the foolishness and stand for sober, moral upright lives before them. “Seek first the kingdom of God and righteousness.” There is surely a way of life that we can put before our children thaC will lead them into that life which is offered to us in the Kingdom of God. What about lending a hand. Any minister or upright man can and will advise you how you may.
