BASKETBALL DANCE

SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION HELD Members of the Whakatane Basketball Club entertained in splendid style at a dance, which they held in the Caledonian Hall last Friday evening. Patrons attended from many parts of the district, and to the music of the Premier Band, had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Messrs. G. Gartshore and Bill Howat in conjunction performed the duties of Masters of Ceremonies, and in a capable fashion excluded any dull moment from taking a hold on proceedings. An enjoyable supper was served by the girls at an appropriate interval, and was thoroughly enjoyed by those present. When 2.30 struck, the power was cut off, but the dance continued by candlelight, and concluded at 1 a.m.

An enjoyable extra was played by Mr Lloyd Sly.
