GOLF BALL

BRIGHT W AIM ANA FUNCTION (From our own correspondent) The Waimana Golf Ball was held in the Waimana Hall last Thursday evening, there being about 200 dancers present. The visitors had travelled from all surrounding distress. The stage and hall was beautifully decorated with ferns, flowers and Nikau palm fronds. The dance music was supplied by the Bay’s popular orchestra, Freddie Burt’s orchestra. A greatly enjoyed extra was played by Mr Bob Burnett, after a delicious savoury supper had been served by Bell’s caterers of Whakatane.

Dancers enjoyed “Claret Cup” between dances. Novelty dances proved quite popular during the evening, and added to the gaiety. The function was greatly enjoyed by all present, and the last waltz was not played until 2 a.m. There were many attractive and effective evening frocks worn by the ladies present.
