HOCKEY DANCE

A SUCCESSFUL EVENING Members of the Whakatarie Hockey Club held a successful dance in the Caledonian Hall last Friday evening, the building being comfortably filled with dancers. The Premier Band, which supplied the music for the occasion was right on form and the standard of playing for both old-time and modern numbers was consistent throughout. Mr J. Gattsche filled the role of Master of Ceremonies, and to him, credit must go for the lively manner in which the evening proceeded.

The supper, which was served by members of the club, was tasty, and very much enjoyed. Novelty dances were again well entered into, and added interest was occasioned by the drawing of a number or competitions. The evening concluded at 1 a.m., those present voting the function an unqualified success, and resolving to attend the next without fail.
