A Highland Reunion

Something of a genuinely touching nature occurred at the Young Caledonian Clan MacLeod evening last Saturday evening when two Scotswomen who had not seen each other for years met in the hall. They were Mrs Jim Martin of Whakatane and Mrs N. G. MacLeod of Te Aroha, both of whom hail from the Isle of Raasay. off the northern coast of Scotland where Gaelic is still the predominent language. To see these two ladies embrace each other and burst into a flood of eager Gaelic was an incident which brought the far-way Highlands and the Isle of Bonny Scotland very near.
