A SERIOUS CASE
LOCAL MAN CHARGED Before Messrs. C. S. Armstrong and L. H. Brown, J.Ps., Alfred James Gillespie appeared in the Whakatane Court last Wednesday morning on a charge of unlawful carnal knowledge 'of a girl under the age of 16 years. Accused was remanded to appear again on August 15, bail being allowed on two sureties self and one other at £IOO each.
