Question in House
A request to the Minister of Railways to investigate the question of placing a diesel oil rail car on the track between Rotorua and Auckland was made in the House of Representatives in notice of a question by Mr W. Sullivan (National, Bay of Plenty). There was much passenger traffic from the eastern Bay of Plenty and Rotorua, he said, and such a service was highly desirable. Today the road services had a through service to Auckland, 5 ' and much of it—passenger and tourist traffic could and should be handled by the railways.
