WHAKATANE MEN’S CLUB The following are the results of the second, round games played in the Fortune and Founders Cups and Flight I, and the first round games in the Consolation for those events. Foi’tune'Cup: Pattison beat B. Butler; Burstall beat L. B. Smith; Combes beat M. Stubbs. Spence and Sharkey still to play.

Consolation: Connell beat R. Butler; D. Luxton beat Akel; Bridger Corbett, Bushett and Dawson have still to play. Founders Cup: Hockin .beat R. J. Smith. Steel and Syme and Denham and A. Morpeth and A. P. Smith and Hyland still to play. Consolation: King beat White; Ducker beat Rankin; Winstone and Turnbull and Carter and Bany still to play. Flight I: Littlejohn beat Suckling; Burke beat Wylds; Milne beat L. Luxton. Wright and Sloane still to play. In the consolation for this event no games have been played The draw for this Saturday is:—

Flight I: Littlejohn v winner of Wright and Sloane; Burke v MilneConsolation: D. Hay v A. Moore; Roach v Wilson; R. Morpeth v Tippett; Stone v Cradwick. In this consolation all games are one round behind and must be caught up.

In all the above events there are some games that are not up to date and in view of the fact that the weather prohibited play last Satur-. day morning an extension will be allowed. All the semi finals in all the above competitions must be played by Sunday 18th August, and members are asked to get in touch with their opponents and make arrangements to play their games as soon as is possible. The second qualifying round of the championships will be played on Saturday, 17th August and anyone with still a round of match play to complete on that day is reminded that the qualifying round must be played in the morning to avoid disqualification. TE TEKO LADIES Owing to rain last Week’s Medal competition had to-be abandoned. A Bogey competition will be played this week- with the same partners as arranged in last week’s draw.
