A special guest will be Chief N. G. MacLeod of the Te Aroha Caledonian Society who expects to be able to make the trip in order to be present. Jones, who journeyed to Opotiki last weekend to participate in a shoot sponsored by the Opotiki Rod and Gun Club. All five Whakatane contestants were successful in ‘bringing home the bacon.’ Ohope Spotlight Followers of modern dancing were well up with Freddie Burt at the Cabaret on Saturday night when a request programme delighted the increasing numbers that follow this new style of dancing. On the floor were seen Mr and Mrs Whittaker, Mr and Mrs Robinson, Mr and Mrs Corbett, Mr and Mrs M. Lees, Misses Venables, Jean Armstrong, Pam Gartshore, Jeannine Lodge, Maurine Brown, Velda and Lorna Print, Nova Ranby, Margaret Robins and Dawn Cato.
