WHAKATANE REFEREES
SECRETARY R. WOOLLIAMS HONOURED TWENTY-TWO YEARS SERVICE; A record of twenty-two years unbroken service to the WhakataneRugby Union Referees’ Association, as secretary was marked last Monday evening when Mr R. H.' Woolliams was the subject of a presentation and high tributes from hiscolleagues. In presenting him with an engraved gold-mounted fountain pen,. Mr Bert Norman said that it was a. gesture from his brother referees in appreciation of his great servicesover a long period. Other speakerswere Messrs. J. Keepa and F. Peefo-, les. An apology for absence was re—: received from Mr W. Henderson* - President of the Rugby Union. In reply, Mr Woolliams expressed, his deepest thanks and • intimated that he would still be associated with, refereeing in the district.
