FAMINE RELIEF

SOCIETY OF FRIENDS CONCERNED The necessity to combat the widespread prejudice and indifference to famine relief on the Continent of Europe, was emphasised at the annual general meeting of the New Zealand Society of Friends. A special minute stressed “the Christian duty of feeding ex-enemies no less than ex-allies”, and commended “the Quaker testimony and service which Colin Morrison is rendering in his public position as Secretary Of CORSO.” At the same meeting, Friends contributed £33 to CORSO for the purchase of food, in addition to individual contributions aggregating £l2O for general relief. The Friends Service Committee is sponsoring an advertisement calling for contributions from the public for the sending of food overseas.
