The Winter Cup Hawke’s Bay’s leading hack performer Tribal Night, is having . a special preparation for the Winter Cup. Mr Harvey Evans’ Musketoon— Miss Webb gelding, Bettermusk, is listed as a candidate for Grand National Hurdles, and is likely to fulfil his engagement. His successes at Tauranga and Paeroa over the obstacles showed him to be a capable 'jumper and a thoroughly, game galloper. At Paeroa he clouted some of the jumps owing to the slippery course, but gamely continued in the lead, quite undeterred by the knocks. Leading Trainer in N.Z. Trainer George Cobb, of Matamata, heads the list of winning trainers of the Dominion for this season, an honour that will be appreciated by his patrons and friends generally.. For the new season he has nearly a full compliment of horses and is likely to have another highly successful term.
