Over the weekend Messrs. Guy, Girling and Allbon, Professionals from Auckland, were coaching on the links and no competitions were played. Over fifty members had lessons and the club as a whole should benefit greatly from the weekend. On Sunday afternoon Guy and Allbon partnered respectively by Hockin and Connell played an exhibition match and their golf was quite up to the standard expected of them. A large gallery followed throughout and showed their apprereciation’of the play by frequent applause. Guy lived up to his reputation as a prodigious driver and hit some “screamers” while Allbon gave a polished display of orthodox golf. Their figures over the 18 holes as against the par of the course read:— . Guy: Out 4 5 4 4 3 5 4 4 5, 38. In 4 3 3.4 3 5 3 4 4, 33—71. Allbon: Out 5 5 5 4 3.4 3 ,3 5, 37.' In 5 3 4 5 3 5 4 4, 36—73. Par 5 4 4 5 3 5 4 4 4, 38. 43453434 4, 34—72.

Both professionals complimented the committee on the condition of the course and considered that it compared more than favourably with many of the city courses.
