GIFT TO HOSPITAL BOARD CHAIRMAN’S ( COMMENT ‘ . “I move that a sincere vote of thanks and appreciation be recorded on our minutes, to the i various donors of gifts to the ’ ' Hospital month after month,” said Mr. J. Mullins, chairman of the Whakatane Hospital Board , yesterday. “These gifts are the means of enabling patients to enjoy many facilities and items of diet which do not come within the scope of the general supply.” <

Mr. C. H. Suckling mentioned that he had always been impressed with the list of donors from month to month, but particularly with the present list. Mr Mitchell endorsed the remarks of both speakers mentioning the work of the Otakiri Womenis Institute, which undertook sewing for the hospital each month.

The motion was canned unanimously.

The current. acknowledgements were as under:—Magazines: Mesdames H. R. Jackson, Langenberger, Hoyland, H. Tennant, Waimana, Thornton and Otakiri Women’s Institutes; Subscriptions to “Southern Cross” newspaper: Mrs D. Alexander and Mr. D. G. Hawkins; Eggs and Flowers: Mrs J. Neilson; Baby ~

Clothes: Te Teko W.D.F.U.; Lemons: Mesdames Larsen, Norman and E. J. Bell; Hot Waterbag Covers: Te Teko Women’s Institute; Books and Grape fruit: Thornton Women’s Institute; Apples: E. J. Bell; Games: 'W. Brown; Flowers: B. Sladden; Tray Cloths and Cakes: Otakiri Women’s Institute.
