WEDDING BELLS

BURNETT—NICHOLLS St. Augustine’s Church, Petone, was the scene of the wedding recently of Miss Dulcie Margaret Nich611s, younger daughter of Hr H. G. Nicholls, of Auckland, and Mr Brian Leslie Burnett, younger son of Mr and Mrs J. L. Burnett, Waimana, Bay of Plenty. The Rev. Austin Chaid.es officiated. The bride wore a charming fitting frock of heavy embossed cream magnolia satin, her full-length tulle lace veil was held in place by three white roses, and she carried a white sheaf of spring flowers. The bridesmaid, Miss Nanette Harris, of Wellington, wore a pretty pale pink sprigged satin frock, with a shoulder-length pink tulle dotted with sequins to tone. Mr John Owen Cranswick, Waimana, was best man. The reception was held in the Masonic Hall, Petone. LEATHWICK—BURNETT A very pretty wedding was solemnised on the afternoon of June 29th at St. Stephen’s Church, Opotiki, by the Rev. L. Liggett, between Alma, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs J. L. Burnett, Waimana, and Francis Joseph, second son of the late Mr and Mrs M. Leathwick, 1 Christchurch. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, was frocked in a charming two-piece blue suit, with hat to tone. The bridesmaid, Noreen Leathwick, of Wellington, sister of the bridegroom, wore a pretty suit of clover with hat in a deeper shade, and carried bouquets to match. Mr Alan Younghusband, Wellington, friend of the bridegroom in the R.N.Z.A.F. ocerseas, carried out the duties of best man.

Mrs Carter, Opotiki, officiated most capably at the organ. After the ceremony the reception was held at the home of Mr and Mrs F. M.
