RUGBY prospects throughout the Whakatane and Rangitaiki districts are this year brighter than they have been since the outbreak of war. Playing standard, in all grades has improved one hundred per cent. With important rep. fixtures in mind public opinion inclines to the possibility ot the Whakatane Union giving a particularly good account of itself* Certainly the material for a first class rep. team is with us for the taking, and it only requires an early start in selecting prospective players to mould as fine a fifteen as ever took the field for the local Union.
