WORK OF C.0.R.5.0.

WHAKATANE has every reason to be proud of the work of the recently formed local branch of C.0.R.5.0. which within a matter of weeks has created three working committees, each of which is actively engaged in its own respective' sphere of raising money, collecting clothing or foodstuffs. The programme of work indicates the earnestness .of the workers concerned, for it includes a street collection, a clothes drive, and a benefit concert. The community has responded with traditional Whakatane generosity and today local C.0.R.5.0. has collected £l5O, has many cases of selected clothing in readiness for despatch overseas, and is organising the saving of foodstuffs and the collections of waste fats throughout the district. The co-operation of the whole community is vitally needed for the prosecution of its further activities.
