WHAKATANE MEN’S CLUB The bogey match played on Saturday resulted in a win for L. D. Luxton with a card of 2 down, the next best card being W. Ducker 3 down. In the final of the Reynolds Cup B. M. Alexander beat W. Rangi in a very close game 1 up. The Clarke Cup final will be played between R. J. Pattison and the winner of A. Morpeth and R. Morpeth, Members are advised that the Professionals Messrs. Guy, Allbon and Girling will be in Whakatane and giving lessons on Saturday, and Sunday the 13th and 14th July. A list will be posted in the clubhouse of players who have booked lessons together with a time chart and members are asked to fill in their names against their required times. The following is the draw for the qualifying round for the Fortune and Founders Cups:—

Smith; Turnbull, Harvey and Wilson; Campbell, Bushett and Stone; Sharkey, Corbett and E. B. Hay; King, Winstone and M. Stubbs; Le Leivre, H. Anderson and D. Hay; White, Butler and Le Pine.
All players are requested to put in their cards in this qualifying round as the best 16 nett scores qualify for the Fortune Cup, the next 16 for the Founders Cup and the remainder will be entered into Flights of 16. The President’s trophy will be awarded to the best nett score in this qualifying round. Members are becoming very lax and careless about replacing divots and their co-operation in the preservation of the course is urged or it will become necessary to revert to the placing rule. There will be a mixed picnic tournament on Sunday 7th and members are reminded to bring their own lunches. Details of the competitions will be posted' in the clubhouse.
TE TEKO LADIES This week a bogey 'competition will be played. The following is the draw:— Thursday: Mrs Hutton and Mrs Linsell; Mrs Balfour and Mrs Cannell; Mrs Moulden and Miss Linsell; Mrs Mcßride apd Mrs Burr. Sunday: Miss Walker and Miss Linsell. In the Medal points competition played last week results were as follows: “B” Grade—Mrs Balfour 103— 26, 77; Mrs Thomas 97—19, 78; Mrs Hutton 112—29, 83. “C” Grade—Mrs Mcßride 114; Miss Murray 120; Miss Linsell 130.
