R.S.A. MEMBERSHIP
COMPARATIVE STATISTICS FIGURES FOR WHAKATANE The final figures for the year ended on March 31, 1946, show that the total membership of the New Zealand Returned Services’ Association is now 115,130, of which total 69,624 or 60.47 per cent., have served in the recent war. There are now 99 branches of the R.S.A. throughout the Dominion, split between the two islands as follows:—
North Island: 78 associations and 76,781 members. South Island: 21 associations and 38,349 members. The increase in total membership for the Dominion over that of last year is 53.25 per cent., and the proportions are 60.47 from this war and 41.84 from the previous war. Figures of interest, giving the name of the association, its position on the Dominion ladder, membership and proportion of members from this war in parentheses, are as follows:
