COLLECTION OF FATS
C.0.R.5.0. DISTRICT DRIVE \ Considerable confusion appears to attend the present drive for fats in the campaign conducted by the local branch of C.0.R.5.0. The position is briefly, that district members of the Fats Sub-Committee comprising members of the W.D.F.U., Women’s Red Cross and other organisations, have undertaken to organise within their own districts, central depots to which fats may be taken. These, in turn, are collected and transported to the Whakatane depot (The Family Butchery) where they are rendered down and sealed ready for despatch overseas. Within the Boroughj arrangements are in hand for street to Collections, and through a school caftipaign, whereby children can, from day to day, bring the waste fats from their respective homes.
