Miss Jessie Croft, who has been associated with the staff of Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Company’s Whakatane branch for some years past has received notice of her transfer on promotion to the stud stock and blood stock department, Hamilton.
Miss Hadfield, of Dominion Red Cross Headquarters, will be visiting Whakatane on Monday, July 22 next, when she will be giving special talks to members of the Junior Red Cross. Miss Hadfield, who has wide international experience, is particularly .keen to meet the heads of youth organisations of Whakatane and district, and will be addressing gatherings of such at 7.30 p.m. in the local Red Cross Headquarters. Notification has been received, that the three trainees who sat for the Junior State Examination at the Whakatane Public Hospital all passed successfully. The three girls were Nurses Attwood, Goodwin and Petit. The former two are proceeding to Wellington to continue their training, whilst Nurse Petit is already in Hamilton. Readers may remember the special social evening which was accorded the three girls after they had sat their examination, in honour of their being the first ones to do sq at this hospital. > j
