PARENTS & TEACHERS
EDGECUMBE ASSOCIATION FORMED At a meeting of householders'held in the Edgecumbe School recently it was resolved that a Parent-Teacher Association be formed in the Edgecumbe School District. Mr R.' Withy, Chairman of the School Committee, presided. The meeting was addressed by Mr I. Hubbard who dwelt on the aims and objects of such an association, and the speaker answered many questions following his address. Officers elected were as follows; President: Mr H. Quayle. Vice-president: Mrs R. Withy. . Secretary-Treasurer: Mr W. J. R. Thompson. Mesdames C. T. Plank and T. Conway. Teachers Representatives: Mr P. Patterson and Miss A. C. Arnold. School Committee Representatives: Messrs. R. Withy and T. Ward. At a later meeting of the committee a constitution was drawn up and will be submitted for ratification at a later general meeting. Arrangements for a social tentatively dated for July 12 were also discussed.
