RED CROSS

EDGECUMBE SUB-CENTRE MEETS The Edgecumbe Sub-Centre of the Red Cross held a meeting in Bell’s Hall on Wednesday, June 15, when Mrs Mexted presided over a fair attendance. A donation of £5 towards food parcels for Britain was sent to the' Victoria League, Auckland, and a letter of appreciation was received. Subscriptions for the monthly bulletins were paid by members. A special food campaign for Britain is to be held this month. Boxes will be at Mr J. S. Wells’ and at Messrs. Hay and Rogers. There will also be a box at the school, and it is hoped that the public will cooperate and respond well to this appeal. The next meeting will be the first Wednesday in August.
