A FEATURE CALUMN Harry James is definitely not dead; he is, in fact, still much alive and blowing a trumpet in the way only Harry James can. The source of the rumour concerning his death is unknown. A New Star Cornel Wilde, well remembered for his part as Chopin in “A Song to Remember” has, as a result of this performance, been cast in one of the most outstanding films of the year, “Leave Her To Heaven.” The seal is set on his career with the announcement that he will play the male lead in “Forever Amber.” New Sets A complete block of “better houses” along New York’s Madison Avenue of 1880 is now under construction at Warner Bros. Studio. Reproduction of these avenues, be used in the filming of “Life With Father” will completely replace the old Vienna Street which has occupied the same site on the back lot since 1930 when “Viennese Nights” was filmed. The houses are being built of reclaimed material, unsuitable for actual housing construction, and will be five stories high. Regent: “Mr Skeffington” (Sat. Mon. and Tues.) Starring twice Academy Award winner Bette Davis, with Claude Rains. Bette Davis gives one of the outstanding performances of her career, whilst Claude Rains also offers exceptionally fine acting. Whakatane audiences are eagerly taking the opportunity of seeing “Dangerous Moonlight” and hearing the beautiful Warsaw Concerto again.
