LETTER OF THANKS
RED CROSS MOVEMENT
COMPLIMENT TO DISTRICT
Printed hereunder is a letter received by Mrs J. E. Winstone, Secretary of the Eastern Bay of Plenty Centre of the N.Z.. Red Cross Society, from the Dominion Secretary of the movement. The letter reflects the highest credit upon all those connected with the organisation, and also upon the residents of this town and district who have donated freely and spontaneously to the cause.
The communication reads as follows:
“I wish to acknowledge and thank you for the promptitude with which you submitted the annual report covering activities of your Centre and Sub-Centres to the end of February last. In consequence of- loyal co-operation, you have indeed achieved an excellent record, upon which one and all are to be most warmly congratulated. “The contribution made by your district to the relief of distress in Great Britain and elsewhere overseas makes very fine reading, and it is evident that you have been most generously supported by the people in your area. The highlight of achievement is the acquisition of your own Headquarters, which, to my mind, exemplifies what can be done when people are earnest and determined in the accomplishment of any task.
“In thanking you, I desire, on behalf of my Executive to express the hope that our work in your district may, under your committee’s guidance, grow from strength to strength.”
