WEDDING BELLS
THOMPSON—KING A wedding of wide local interest was solemnised in the St. George’s Anglican Church,, Whakatane, recently, when Pamela, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Leigh King, Bank of New Zealand, was married to Alan, elder son of Mr and Mrs Walter Thompson, Bridge Street, Whakatane. The Rev. W. N. Drake officiat-' ed, and Dr. E. T. Dawson was organist. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an ivory brocaded marocain gown, with rucked bodice and sleeves. Rouleaux worked in silver outlined the sweetheart neckline and train. Her uncut tulle veil was held in place with orchids and white rose buds, and she carried a sheaf of the same flowers. The bridesmaids, the Misses Margaret Robins, Heather Reynolds, Pixie Appleby and Shirley Otley, wore flowered muslin frocks. The best man was Mr David Lynch, of Raetihi, and the groomsman Mr Jim Thompson. The reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.
