Saving of Coupons Food coupons handed in at the local Post Office in pursuance of the Food for Britain Campaign for the week ending 1/6/46 totalled—Butter 31bs., meat (value) £9 8s 6d. The total conservations to date by this means is now: Sugar 121b5., tea 2£ lbs., butter 661b5., and meat £54 16s sd. A particularly fine effort was made by the Te Teko -branch of the Red Cross Society, which last week handed in meat coupons to the value of £6 Is 6d.
Rangitaiki Hockey Club Dance Reformed after the war years the Rangitaiki Hockey Club this season consists mostly of girls and junior boys and it is the endeavour of the club , to encourage and help these enthusiastic players by supplying gear and paying expenses from club funds. For the purpose of raising these funds a Social Committee has been formed and already they are hard at work and have made every preparation to make the dance to be held at Edgecumbe next Tuesday night, June 11, a great success. Music will be supplied by the popular Premier Dance Band and a delicious home-made supper will be served.
