CROQUET

CLOSING OF SEASON Saturday afternoon brought to a close the local club’s season. The weather was ideal and a very enjoyable afternoon was spent playing progressive croquet, by the members and visitors. Mrs Burgess was the winner of this competition, trophy donated by Mrs Harris while Mrs Caisley carried off the consolation prize donated by Mrs Creeke. A points competition played over the latter part of the season, won by Mrs Comer (A) and Mrs Shaw (B). After afternoon tea had been served trophies were presented by the president, Mrs Creeke, who also congratulated Mrs Loane on her play at the Cambridge Easter Tournament when with her partner, she was runner-up in the Championship Doubles.

After thanking the committee, secretary and members for. their cooperation and support during the season, the president declared the greens closed.
