WEDDING BELLS

MILLER— SAL VIDGE A very pretty wedding took place at St. John’s Catholic Church, Wha--’ katane, on Saturday, May 11, when Patsy Joy, second daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Miller, McLean’s Road, was married to John, eldest son of Mr and Mrs G. Salvidge, Otakiri. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Reverend Father Curley. ~ The bride entered the Church on the arm of her father wearing a beautiful gown of white georgette appliqued with satin, the sweetheart j neckline was trimmed with small georgette pleating which continued down the front to the low waist. The ground length skirt fell slightly full from a fitting bodice edged with, pleating. The bishop sleeves finished with the same to form a point over the hand completed her frock. Her beautiful frock length veil of silk hand embroidered net was held in place by g spray of small begonias and maidenhair fern, and she carried a shower bouquet of begonias and chrysanthemums. I In attendance were the bride’s! sisters, Misses Monica and Wrayl Miller, frocked alike in white geor-j gette cut on similar lines to that] of the bride. They wore shoulderl length veils of silk net held in. place! by a spray of shaded red begonias! and- carnations and carried shower! bouquets of the shaded red, begon-l ias, zinnias and carnations. I

Mr William Bowers (New Plymouth) acted as best man and the groomsman was Mr Desmond Smeaton.

At a reception.in the King Street Hall many relatives of the bride and groom were present from TaranakiJ Auckland and Hamilton. They were received by the bride’s mother wearing a smart suit of dark emeralcU green appliqued with black velvet, black accesories and a she widen spray of autumn flowers. She wad assisted by the bridegroom’s mothed wearing a suit of navy\ trimmed with white and white shoulder! spray.
