ANNUAL MEETING OF NEW CLUB

FUTURE PROSPECTS BRIGHT

The first annual meeting of the Rangitaiki Axemen’s Club took place in the Factory Social Room recently and attracted a good attendance of members and others interested. The past activities of the club were reviewed and activities for the future discussed. There is every indication of the club continuing to make the same steady progress it has in the past.-

The report and balance sheet were read and adopted and the election of officers proceeded with. The newly appointed officers were as under:— Patron: Mr T. Edwards. President: Mr W. Bunyan. Secretary: Mr J. Newdick.

Vice-Presidents: Messrs. H. Anderson, B. Magee, D. Allan, Johnnie Anderson, Tat Anderson, Colin McKenzie, J. S. Wells, J. Huish, D. Brophy, Max Hunt, J. Charlie, J. Hanright, S. T. Keen, W. Geeson, A. Hall, Jock Thomas, H. Warren, P. Fenton, H. Armstrong, G. Hewitt, Leo Duckworth, J. Wardlaw and Mesdames Dunderdale and Wylde. Executive: T. Parkes, T. Whitley, J. Menery, A. Hill, W. E. -1111, H. Hanright, M. Parkinson, H. Phillips, W. Symons, the secretary and piesident ex officio.

It was decided to draw up rules at the first possible moment and to have same approved -at an extraordinary general meeting. Mr W. Symons was appointed starter, with Mr M. Parkinson as assistant. Check starters appointed were Messrs. M. Parkinson, J. Menary, J. Jamieson, B. Hughes, H. Phillips, T. Whitley, J. Jordan, T. Parkes, B. Magee. Delegate to N.A.U. Mr W. Symons. Subscriptions were fixed at 2/6 per annum. It was decided that efforts should be made for purchasing a judging machine from W. Baker of Katikati, and further that the executive arrange the running of a dance or some similar function for the raising of funds.

A Social Committee comprising the following was set up: Messrs. J. Jamieson, W. Symons, T. Parkes, M. Parkinson, H. Hanright, C. Penny and the Secretary.
