REPAIRS AND RENEWALS IMPOSING LIST FOR SUBSIDY In a letter forwarded to the District Engineer, P.W.D., the Whakatane County Council presents the following list of works which its requests shall be presented for Government subsidy for the year 194647:

Bridges (in concrete): Taneatua Bridge (Waimana River) (290’ x 24’) £16,620; Awaiti Drain (Railway West) (20’ x 24’) £1100; Kopeopeo (Eastern Boundary) (50’ x 18’) £1920; Kopeopeo (Eastern Drain) (50’ x 18’) £1920; McLean’s (Western Drain) (20’ x 18’) £780; Omeheu Outfall (Riverslea-Otakiri) (50 ’ x--24’) £2680. Road Formation and Metalling: H§repuru Road (including cost of survey £240) £3300; Millar’s Road £400; Whirinaki Bridge Approach Road £1330; Rewatu Road £4OOO. The Council request that bridges 2 to 6 inclusive and the formation and metalling works receive a £3 to £1 subsidy and that the Taneatua Bridge receive a £5 to £1 subsidy.
