WHAKATANE ROWING CLUB ARMSTRONG MEMORIAL CUP RACES A fitting climax to a most successful rowing season was the official closing day when five crews took the water to compete for the Mick Armstrong Memorial Cup, a beautiful trophy donated to the club for local competition. Results of races were as follows:

Debreceny who thoroughly deserved their hard •earned and meritorious victory, having received three wins and a dead heat.

The Club ■ Captain, Mr Bert Norman, passed some congratulatory remarks to the winning crew, and reviewing the very successful season just closed he predicted a bright future for a keen and industrious club. He then declared the season closed.
