RUGBY PROSPECTS
OFFICIALLY opening on Saturday, the Rugby season under the Whakatane Union, bids fair to be one of outstanding achievement which will probably reach new heights as far as scientific standards are concerned. Not only are there more affiliated' clubs than were available during the six years of war, but throughout the district there is a leavening of experienced returned soldiers who have been used to the game in army competitions overseas. Firm and tactful handling of the new set up by the Union, plus*a bright and interesting. competitional round of Club football, must make for a successful season.
