LEAVING TOMORROW
TWO WELL KNOWN SWEDISH FAMILIES
CONNECTION WITH PAPER MILLS
After nine years association with the Whakatane Paper Mills, covering the years of its early inception, Mr E. Frastad with Mrs Frastad, and Mr and Mrs K. Ryberg will be leaving on Saturday for Wellington where they will take ship for their native country.
Mr Frastad who has played a prominent part in the development of the engineering and mechanical prospect of the Mill, has made many friends in the district who will join in wishing both he and his wife the best of luck and God-speed in their homeward trip. Mr and Mrs Ryberg are also well known local figures who will be missed by many friends. It is their intention to settle at Sundsvall in Northern Sweden after a brief holiday. Both families pay a warm tribute to the kindnesses they have enjoyed whilst in Whakatane, and are high in their praises for the marvellous climatic conditions which they have enjoyed in New Zealand. They leave New Zealand with many regrets and will certainly advertise its attractions abroad. Mr Frastad particularly appreciated the out-of-doors life and sports available to the average New Zealander. He was most enthusiastic about the fishing which he greatly enjoyed. With the same vessel will sail Mr Jeffrey, a Canadian who came out before the war to join the Mill staff and who subsequently served overseas for four with the New Zealand forces. He is also well known locally. Whakatane joins in extending the party its best wishes and in saying KIA ORA.
