PRESENTATION

Miss Ruth Gar away who, after 21 years service with the Whakatane Borough Council has resigned to accept another appointment at Whakatane, was the guest of honour at an afternoon tea function at the Council Chambers recently. Appreciation and eulogistic reference to her work with the council was paid Miss Garaway by His Worship the Mayor, Crs Sullivan, Shapley, the Town Cleric and other members of the staff, and all expressed their regret at her leaving the employ of the council. Mr Barry made a presentation to Miss Garaway on behalf of the council and the staff presented her with a leather overnight travelling bag.
