AWAKERI GALA DAY

TOMORROW S GREAT EVENT

All roads will lead to Awaken tomorrow, when that district intends staging its gala day and gymkhana, the proceeds from which will be devoted towards the R.S.A. Memorial Appeal Fund. The programme includes a wide range of events including Adult and Children’s Horse Events, Athletics, Chopping, Primary School Children’s Events and a Baby Show. The committee has endeavoured to make the day one that will be remembered by patrons, many of whom are already anticipating the event with memories of yast year’s effort. A special feature for housewives is the sponge cake competition. (No entry fee). Knowing that farmers wives are recognised as being the best cooks in the world, we feel that this will be a highlight of the day.

With such an excellent programme, and a hard working committee organising the fixture, we feel sure that the public response will, as in the past, more than justify the effort which is being made to make the event a worthy success.
