Labourer’s Injury While lifting logs at the Matahina forests of the Whakatane Paper Mills Ltd., a labourer, Leonard Unkovich, suffered injuries to his back necessitating his removal to the Whakatane Hospital. His condition is not serious. New Concrete Footpath The new concrete footpath which the Borough Council is at present forming in Russell Street is nearing completion, and is an excellent job in all respects. The footpath is expected to be completed towards the end of next week. Link With the Past A singular fact which was widely commented on at last Wednesday’s wedding last Wednesday was that the roses which composed portion of the bridal bouquet were plucked from the same bush which had furnished blooms for the bouquets carried by both the bride’s mother and her grandmother when they were married.
