LABOUR INTERESTS

TANEATUA BRANCH A meeting of the Taneatua Branch of the N.Z. Labour Party was held in the Taneatua Hall supper room on Monday, March 25. Mr Santon presided over a good attendance. The election of officers resulted as under:— ! Chairman: Mr G. Santon. I Vice-Chairman: Mr N. Semmens. Hon. Secretary: Mr B. Martin. Hon. Treasurer: Mr L. Newdick. Executive: Mesdames E. C. Santon, T. Gardner, L. Newdick; Messrs T. Anderson, R. Ducker, I. Moore, C. Moore, W. Mair, H. Kelson, J. Shaw, J. Frost, C. Cairns, W. Evans, F. Gardner, G. Attwood. It was decided to place on record the names of the following in' appreciation of their past services to the branch: Mesdames E. Walker, E. C. Santon and Messrs H. Taylor and W. Semmens.

After the chairman’s opening remarks the meeting stood in silence in respect to the late Mr T. Fowell who had recently passed away. At the close of the meeting the ladies served an enjoyable supper.
