f SOUTH AUCKLAND A CUP Opotiki-players visited Whakata:ne on Tuesday, March 19. to contest the South Auckland Croquet A Cup held by Whakatane Club but were defeated by 99 points to 41. Details of the games were as follows, Opotiki players being mentioned first:— Ist Game: Mesdames Maddren and Johnson 6, Mesdames Hellyar and Sutherland 26. Mesdames Parkinson and Chatfield 8, Mesdames Comer and Loane 26. 2nd Game: Mesdames Maddren and Johnson 9, Mesdames Hellyar and Sutherland 26. Mesdames Parkinson and Chatfield 18, Mesdames Comer and Loane 21. The visitors were entertained to lunch and afternoon tea in the club’s pavilion.
