GARDEN PARTY

REGISTERED NURSES ASSN. A very enjoyable garden party, held under the auspices of the Registered Nurses Association took place at Mrs Fletcher Cole’s residence recently. Wholehearted support from the public was accorded the function, and a successful day, attributable in no small -measure to the help afforded by the Boy Scouts, ensued.

As a result, a substantial donation will go forward from the Whakatane Branch to the Nurses Memorial Fund, devoted to assisting sick or disabled nurses.

Competitions held during the day were won as under:—

Mystery Box (,3 prizes): Mr Richards, Mrs Alisin, Mr Doggett. Preserves (2 prizes): Mrs E. Dawson, Mrs A. M. Clgrk. Case Apples: Mrs K. Stewart. Sponge Cake: Mrs G. Kirk. Tatted Collar: Mrs C. Thomas. Croquet: Mrs Baxter, Mrs Hepburn Snr. Taipo: Mrs Dewar. Darts: Miss Armstrong. Quoits: Mrs McFarland. Clock Golf: Mrs Buddie. Hoop-La: Mrs Cockburn.
