R.S.A. CARNIVAL

BOROUGH PRINCESSES Following is the position of the two Whakatane Princesses as they stand at the moment:—

Princess Beverley .... 6266 Princess Pam ........ 6055 It is noticed that Princess Pam is gradually creeping up on Princess Beverley, and that both are ahead of the County candidates. However, the race is only just starting, and in a few more days, all contestants will be settling well into their stride. It appears as if it will be a race against time, and the pace into the straight and home can be guaranteed to be a hot one. Apparently Princess Ivy is still only a short distance in front of the barrier, although her committee, silently smirking behind false whiskers as they spy upon their opponents, claim that once she gets away, the others will have to keep the bit between their teeth to maintain anything like their good start.
